Locum Telehealth Psychiatrists – Work From Anywhere, Whenever It Suits you!

Picture this: A patient in remote Australia sets off for their first appointment with a Psychiatrist. They've been on the waiting list for the best part of a year, it's an 1800km round trip to fly and receive the healthcare they need. When they arrive, the doctor is running late, their regional flight was delayed whilst travel and border issues were resolved. Surely there's a better alternative?

Wouldn't it be easier, as a Psychiatrist, if you could wake up, make a coffee and then videocall this patient from the comforts of your home? After the call, drop the kids off at school or go for a morning swim, knowing your next appointment is scheduled for when you are free. No commute, no 9-5 commitments, but still providing the same essential services to those desperately in need.

One rare positive arising from the pandemic is the transition to telehealth solutions to the doctor shortage in rural areas. Remote health services have struggled to provide specialist care – particularly in light of border closures, travel concerns and hesitancy to consult face-to-face.

Psychiatrists offering services over videoconference can help lift the burden on these health services, and provide the necessary care in a structured and safe manner. You too can play a key role as health services adapt to a new way of providing specialist care – please read on to learn more.

The Position

This completely flexible position is for Fellow Psychiatrists trained in any Psychiatric Sub-Specialty. Ideal for those looking to pick up as little as one hour per month around their current commitments, or transition their own practice into a fully remote model.

★ Your patients will be scheduled into your free appointment slots, dialling in from their local GP clinics or even from their own home

★ You'll receive 100% Medicare billings from a remote telehealth item number – meaning DWS restricted doctors can claim and still work in Metropolitan areas

★ You will have access to comprehensive administrative support – including appointment scheduling, dictation write-up, Medicare paperwork, IT set-up and troubleshooting

★ This is a totally flexible working arrangement – offer to work only the hours/days you are free, including weekends and after-hours

★ Work from home, your clinic or anywhere that has a reliable internet connection (a hotel in Bali?!)

★ Huge demand for your services – capacity to work full-time retaining patients for long term care, or seeing new patients on an individual basis

★ Support from GPs or Nurse Practitioners physically with the patients if required

★ Opportunities for CAMHS, Older Persons and Forensic Specialists in addition to General Adult consultations

★ Payment is cleared into your account the day after your appointments

Click ‘Connect with Prescript’ to learn more, or contact Max Drakeley (Prescript’s Recruitment Partner):

max@prescript.com.au // 0451 828 615

Dates Available

➞ This is an ongoing position with availability to start immediately - following a 30-minute onboarding session.

➞ Once signed up – you can pick up as much or as little work as you desire.

➞ 45–60 minute appointments.

The Benefits

★ No commitment locum position, work as little or as much as you like from any location with an internet connection

★ Excellent earning potential – $250ph (approx.)

★ Paid almost immediately for the work that you do

★ Hassle-free private practice – have your scheduling and paperwork taken care of without paying any management fees!

★ Worry-free locum opportunity – no travel requirements or border issues to consider

★ Committed, modern telehealth model

➞ From 2022, Covid-19 telehealth item numbers will cease and health services will transition back to face-to-face consultations

➞ This is an opportunity to maintain a remote working arrangement with a service specialising in remote telehealth solutions

➞ Now is the time to be part of the revolution! Get in touch with Max to discuss your interest

You can let us know if you want to bring your family and if you have any special requirements.

◼️ The second stage is an informal application – we will arrange a phone call or a review of your skills to establish if this is going to be a good fit.

Locum Psychiatrist (Inpatient) - Launceston, TAS - Nov to Jan

The Position

Is a locum in Launceston over the summer months sounding appealing? Prescript has Psychiatrist locum dates available in Launceston from 01 November 2021 to 14 January 2022.

★ General Adult Inpatient

★ $2500 per day

★ Some on-call requirements

Launceston is Tasmania’s second-biggest city and is ideally nestled at the head of the beautiful Tamar Valley. The pretty port around which the city has grown has a fascinating history and a vibrant modern-day culture. Within Launceston, we recommend a wander of the streets in the compact centre to get a real feel for the colonial settlement it once was.
