Locum Rural Generalist – Short Consistent Stints in Leeton - $3000 Per Day

Are you a GP VMO interested in reducing your work commitments whilst maintaining a substantial salary? A hospital with some of the best feedback we receive from our locums is seeking short-term ongoing coverage during November, December and into 2023.

This locum position is well remunerated at $3000 per day with ongoing shifts on weekdays only. Leaving you with a consistent income and more time off to spend with family and friends.

This opportunity would particularly suit GPs in Southern NSW or North-eastern VIC with the capacity to cover ED shifts during the quieter working week, with minimum on-call responsibilities.

The Position

Leeton Hospital in NSW is looking for an experienced GP VMO to work within their lovely community.

2-day blocks in Nov & Dec with extension likely into 2023

Hospital work only (ED and Wards)

Only on-call for Cat 1s & 2s after 6pm

Well supported by an experienced nursing team

About the hospital & the role:

This 72-bed hospital has a 24-hour accident and emergency. It consists of five ED beds, 25 acute beds, four maternity beds, and 38 residential aged care beds.

The nights are generally quiet, with telehealth accessible in the ED and VRGS connecting you to specialists in city hospitals for any urgent calls for extra assistance. They have an experienced nursing team that will only call overnight for CAT 1 & 2, meaning you will have a decent rest for the next day. On the rarity, if you have a busy night, they have a fatigue plan in place to ensure rest is taken.

Major trauma is often directed to either Griffith Hospital (40 minutes away) or Wagga Wagga Hospital (1.5 hours away).
