Locum GP - Aboriginal & Torres Straight Islander Primary Health Care QLD

The Position

Prescript has partnered with an ACCHO in Cape York, Queensland, to help them find locum FIFO GPs with experience or a passion for improving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health outcomes through primary health care.

★ Locum blocks from two weeks to two months

★ Placements are fly in, fly out to various communities in Cape York Queensland.

★ Reporting to the Executive of Clinical Services, you’ll be playing an extremely vital role in this unique and rewarding GP placement - ensuring clinical care is in line with national standards and fostering a culture focused on providing culturally appropriate patient-centered care.

★ Travel & accommodation is provided, including a stopover where necessary.

★ Daily rate of $1500.

★ You must be willing to travel in Cape York either by light aircraft or 4WD as required.

Located in Far North Queensland, the Cape York Peninsula is the largest unspoiled wilderness in northern Australia and Australia’s busiest tourist destination. The region is largely uninhabited and known its for four-wheel-drive enthusiasts. Throughout the region, you can find Aboriginal settlements, mining towns, cattle stations, extensive coral reef formations & fantastic fishing and diving (watch out for the crocodiles in the rivers!).
