Prescript is working with Top End Health Service to find ED Registrars and RMOs (PGY3+) to locum in their Emergency department. There are shifts available from the 22nd of December 2023 to the 5th of February 2024.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in tropical Katherine whilst earning an excellent rate of $200 per hour. Spend your days off exploring all the spectacular Northern Territory has to offer.
The Position
This role requires dedicated ED RMOs and Registrars who can navigate the challenges of rural healthcare and are committed to delivering high-quality emergency care, catering to the needs of Aboriginal communities.
The position is based primarily within the Emergency Department, but some after-hours assistance may be required in the ward.
You will be collaborating with the team of nursing staff and an after-hours consultant who is available remotely if required.
$200 per hour

Katherine is a town characterised by its natural beauty and cultural richness. Katherine thrives along the picturesque banks of the Katherine River, a key tributary in the Daly River system. This charming town is renowned for its proximity to the majestic Katherine Gorge, an integral part of Nitmiluk National Park, where you can embark on boat excursions or scenic walks along the gorge's rim. The nearby Edith Falls and Cutta Cutta Caves contribute to the region's allure, providing refreshing swimming spots and subterranean wonders.
Home to several Aboriginal communities, Katherine has a significant Indigenous presence with rich cultural traditions. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience and make an impact within Indigenous Health.

Who We're Looking For
✓ General AHPRA Registration
✓ PGY3+ doctors with rural and solo ED nights experience
✓ Trauma training required including Adult Life Support, Paediatric Life Support, and Neonatal Resus
✓ Interest in Aboriginal Medicine would be advantageous
✓ You must be an Australian permanent resident or citizen, a New Zealand citizen, or other relevant work visa

About Jo Weaver
Having worked with many of the team members in my previous role, they recognised my skills and experience in the health field and thought that I could bring valuable knowledge and tools to the organisation. It’s a pleasure to be a part of the Prescript team.
I am a dedicated recruitment professional with an extensive background in the healthcare industry. I began my career at a sole-doctor GP practice and during my 17 years there, I helped grow the practice to nine staff members, including four doctors, four part-time receptionists, and myself. Seeking to broaden my knowledge, I then transitioned to Medical Workforce at a small rural public hospital where I enjoyed building relationships with clinical and non-clinical staff.
My experience working with hospitals and practices enables me to put myself in both health services and doctors’ shoes and truly understand their recruitment needs from their perspective.
Professionally, I am driven by contributing 100% of the time, doing the very best I can to make doctors feel happy and fulfilled in their positions. Personally, my driving force is family. I am there to support them, be involved, nurture, and watch them grow.
In my role, I am passionate about achieving good outcomes, placing doctors in vacant roles, building relationships with medical professionals, and filling organisational roster gaps with locums. In doing so, I hope to contribute to the Prescript’s growth, success, and our mission of solving the regional doctor shortage in Australia.
Outside of work, I enjoy gardening, growing my own veggies, cooking, and trying new recipes. I am also an avid reader of murder/crime mysteries.
