The Position
You’ll lead the delivery of medical services across Katherine Hospital and a network of Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in the Big Rivers Region. This includes overseeing clinical governance, supporting workforce development, and working closely with NT Health to deliver equitable, culturally safe care.
Your key responsibilities:
Provide senior medical leadership across hospital and PHC sites
Drive clinical governance, safety, and credentialing standards
Mentor GPs, rural generalists, specialists, and registrars
Collaborate with NT Health on strategic and operational planning
Foster Indigenous health partnerships and community-first service delivery
Dates Available
Fixed-Term Appointment: 24-month contract
Option to include a clinical component
Potential academic status with Flinders University NT Medical Program

Total Remuneration Package: $394,242 – $541,390 (based on qualifications and experience)

What We Require From You
AHPRA registration
Fellowship (or eligibility) with RACGP, ACRRM, AFPHM, FRACMA, FACHSM, or equivalent
Proven experience in clinical governance and hospital-based care
Demonstrated medical leadership in regional or remote settings
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
A commitment to supporting workforce capacity and Indigenous health equity
