Support a key hospital in Queensland’s rural heartland. Charleville Hospital plays a vital role in the region’s health network, and this role offers two scope options to suit your background:

  • Option 1: Medical Administration only (for FRACMA or equivalent fellows)

  • Option 2: Hybrid role combining Medical Administration with clinical work across the ED, inpatient ward, and local GP clinic (for candidates with suitable clinical credentials)

2. Part-Time Locum DMS – South West Healthcare, Warrnambool, VIC
A highly flexible executive-level appointment supporting South West Healthcare’s governance and strategy functions. Ideal for senior administrators seeking impactful work without stepping away from other obligations.

  • Non-clinical, strategic DMS role

  • 1–2 days per fortnight over 6 months

Deputy EDMS - Tasmania - Permanent Leadership Role

This is an opportunity to lead with impact—while living in one of Australia’s most liveable regions.

Launceston General Hospital (LGH), Northern Tasmania’s major referral and teaching hospital, is seeking a senior medical leader to join its executive team as Deputy Executive Director of Medical Services (Deputy EDMS). With over 450 beds and a wide-reaching regional footprint, LGH plays a vital role in the health of communities across Tasmania’s North and North-West.

This is a permanent leadership position ideal for a doctor with a strong grounding in clinical governance, medical administration, and a passion for driving change from the inside. You'll work alongside an engaged executive team, enjoy access to research and academic affiliations, and be supported to grow your leadership career while delivering meaningful results for the system and community.

The Position

As Deputy EDMS, you'll play a critical role in shaping the medical workforce and ensuring high clinical standards across the region. You will:

  • Support the Executive Director of Medical Services in delivering strategic and operational leadership across LGH

  • Oversee medical workforce planning, junior doctor recruitment, and credentialing

  • Partner with GP and community care services to enhance integrated care

  • Lead quality improvement, risk management, and medical governance initiatives

  • Represent the medical workforce in executive and system-wide forums

  • Act as a delegate for the EDMS, stepping into decision-making roles as required

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract (up to 76 hours per fortnight) with on-call responsibilities, offered over two years with flexibility on the start date.
