The Position
As Director of Medical Services (DMS) at Katherine Hospital, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and improving healthcare delivery in this vibrant regional hub. Your leadership will help ensure high-quality care for a diverse community while supporting and guiding the hospital’s dedicated medical team.
Key responsibilities include managing and administering medical services, collaborating with teams across departments to drive hospital-wide goals, and providing strategic guidance on service delivery and healthcare standards. You will be expected to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation, while fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

The position is available from 30th June 2025, with a flexible duration that allows you to choose a placement of four weeks or extend up to six months. This opportunity offers a competitive daily rate of $2,500. Return economy flights to and from Katherine, NT, are fully covered, along with a car for the duration of your stay and supplied accommodation. Additionally, there are no on-call duties, allowing you to fully enjoy your time off exploring Katherine’s natural wonders.

What We Require From You
To be considered for this role, you must hold current AHPRA registration and have obtained or made substantial progress toward AFRACMA, FRACMA, or FACHSM qualifications. Applicants must also be Australian citizens, permanent residents, New Zealand citizens, or hold a valid work visa.
