This purpose-built private emergency department, located within Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton, offers an ideal locum opportunity for QLD-based FACEMs. Operated by a national team of emergency physicians, the model ensures clinical quality, consistent shift coverage, and streamlined systems for doctors.
The Position
- Role: FACEM
- Setting: Private ED adjacent to Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton
- Rate: $3000 per day or 70% of billings (whichever is higher)
- Shifts: Early (0800–1600) and Late (1400–2200)
- Team Structure: One FACEM per shift
Emergency Department Overview:
- Open daily from 8am–10pm
- ~30 low-acuity presentations/day
- Excellent diagnostics and admin support
- Governance and rostering led by emergency specialists
Dates Available
Shifts available across August, September, and October 2025.
Examples include:
- Friday 1 August – Late
- Saturday 2 to Wednesday 6 August – Late
- Saturday 9 August – Early
- Sunday 10 August – Late
- Plus 20+ additional shifts available

What We Require From You
- Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM)
- Current AHPRA Specialist Registration
- Availability for at least one shift
