The Position

You will deliver high-quality emergency care within Glen Innes District Hospital’s 24/7 Emergency Department — a key acute service for the broader Tablelands sector.

You’ll be joining a dedicated, supportive team in a facility undergoing major investment in emergency, imaging, and clinical support services.

Shifts are flexible, with options to work full 24-hour blocks (0700–0700) or overnight (1800–0700). 24-hour shifts can also be split to suit your preferences.

This is a fantastic opportunity for ED SMOs wanting a professionally rewarding, well-supported role without the intensity of metro hospitals.

Shifts are available across May, June, and July 2025, including:

The Position

You’ll be joining a tight-knit ED team in a modern, well-equipped regional hospital servicing the New England region. With a steady flow of presentations and strong onsite support, this role suits confident, capable doctors who enjoy the diversity and autonomy of regional emergency care.

  • Role: ED Senior Registrar / SMO

  • Location: Armidale Hospital, NSW

  • Rates: $220–$250 per hour, depending on shift type

    • 10-bed ED with 17,000+ annual presentations

    • 24/7 ED plus inpatient, maternity, surgical, and outpatient services

    • Purpose-built spaces for resus, mental health, paediatrics, procedures, and consults

    • Clear shift structures: day, evening, and overnight coverage (IC and non-IC)

    • Part of the Hunter New England Local Health District, serving as a referral centre for surrounding towns including Inverell, Glen Innes, and Tenterfield

  • 16 beds plus 4 short-stay bays

  • 2 resus bays and a mental health safe room

  • On-site helipad for emergency retrieval

  • CT scanner and digital imaging

  • Telehealth capability to support regional care

At Mona Vale Urgent Care Centre, you’ll be part of a well-supported, high-performing team managing a steady flow of lower-acuity presentations. With flexible shifts available from May through July, you can lock in great rates while enjoying a more relaxed pace—just 45 minutes from the Sydney CBD.

Prescript’s end-to-end support means everything from paperwork to scheduling is taken care of. You focus on the medicine; we’ll handle the rest.

The Position

Role: ED Senior Registrar / ED SMO
Location: Mona Vale Urgent Care Centre, Northern Beaches, NSW
Hourly Rate: $130 – $180 (up to $1,800 per shift)

You’ll work in a well-resourced centre with a predictable roster and strong collegial support. Shift structure includes:

  • Day: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Evening: 12:30 PM – 10:30 PM

  • Night: Fully covered by two rostered doctors

The UCC sees around 65–70 patients per day. Presentations include:

  • Minor trauma, sprains, fractures

  • Mild asthma, chest infections, skin conditions

  • Wound reviews, lacerations, minor burns

  • Abdominal discomfort, headaches, infections

High-acuity cases are referred directly to Mona Vale Hospital ED.

The Position

Role: Emergency Medicine Registrar
Location: Shellharbour Hospital, Mount Warrigal, NSW
Daily Rate: Up to $2,500 (based on experience)

You’ll be stepping into a well-structured department where no doctor is ever rostered solo. Every shift is supported, and senior coverage is built into the team structure — including overnight.

Shellharbour Hospital sees around 24,000 ED presentations each year and is fully accredited by ACEM for Emergency Medicine Certificate and Diploma programs.

This is an ideal role for experienced Registrars who want to keep building capability in a high-functioning, well-supported environment — while enjoying the flexibility and reward of locum work.

Shifts are available from April through July 2025, including multi-day blocks.
