AMS

GP AMS Locum | South Coast NSW | $1,500/day + Travel & Accom

Prescript Recruitment places doctors where they’re needed most — and where they can truly thrive.

This is more than a locum job. It’s an opportunity to be part of something meaningful, contributing to culturally safe, community-led healthcare in one of Australia’s most naturally beautiful regions. If you’re a GP with an interest in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, this is a chance to do rewarding work in a supportive team with room to breathe.

Whether you’re based in Bega or Batemans Bay, you’ll be working in a purpose-built Aboriginal Medical Service with a holistic approach to health and wellbeing across physical, mental, social, and spiritual care.

The Position

You’ll be providing GP-led primary care Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm. No weekends. No on-call.

Each clinic is well-supported by Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, and on-site allied health professionals, as well as broader services such as dental care, chronic disease programs, and social and emotional wellbeing initiatives.

This is a low-stress, high-impact role — ideal for doctors who want to step into a team that truly values their presence.

Dates Available

  • Batemans Bay – from 1st April 2026
  • Bega – from 5th January 2026

Minimum of four weeks preferred. Longer or repeat bookings welcome.

Benefits Provided

  • $1,500 per day
  • All travel covered – including flights and car hire
  • Self-contained accommodation provided
  • Best Practice software
  • Dedicated Prescript support from first enquiry to final invoice

What We’re Looking For

  • Current Specialist AHPRA Registration (FRACGP or equivalent)
  • AMS experience is valued, but not essential — what matters most is a genuine interest in delivering culturally appropriate care
  • Doctors must be comfortable working in a team-oriented, holistic care model

Why This Role Is in Demand

This is one of Prescript’s most requested sites — already booked out until early 2026. GPs keep returning because of the balance it offers: meaningful work, a manageable pace, and a stunning location.
